I build the systems your business runs on.

Websites, custom software, and AI — architected to work and maintained to stay that way. Twenty years shipping production systems, from Fortune 500 WordPress infrastructure to frontier AI. You work directly with me: not a rotating team, and not a junior learning on your budget.

What I do

Four tiers, one operator, end to end

AI & harness engineering

Solutions architecture and deployment for teams putting AI into production. Custom harnesses and agent-workflow development, integration with your stack, and the evaluation and verification that keep it trustworthy. Systems built to be governed, not trusted — because as models get more capable, the edge stops being capability and becomes oversight.

Custom software & apps

Bespoke web and mobile applications, internal tools, and product builds — from first principles to shipped in the stores. Native iOS and Android, web apps, and the integrations that tie them to the rest of your business.

iOS · Android · web apps · internal tools

Web presence & infrastructure

WordPress builds and redesigns, migrations, WooCommerce, performance and hosting, DevOps, security, and ongoing maintenance and care plans. Twenty years and thousands of sites kept fast and up — including enterprise WordPress hosting at Automattic scale.

WordPress · WooCommerce · migrations · hosting/DevOps · care plans

Growth & support

SEO, content and copywriting, analytics, and accessibility — the pieces that keep a site earning after launch, and the ongoing support that keeps it healthy. Part of a full engagement, not a commodity bolt-on.

Why work with me

I'm Phill Clapham. For twenty years I've built and operated the systems businesses run on — most recently as sole Senior Solutions Architect for Pressable's (Automattic) enterprise WordPress portfolio, and before that across hundreds of client sites, thousands of migrations, and custom builds. The same discipline runs through all of it: find the shape of the problem, build from fundamentals, and make it reliable by design.

  • One operator, end to end. You don't get handed to a junior after the sale. The person who scopes it is the person who builds it.
  • Right over fast. Done properly the first time. Backtracking from a shortcut costs far more than doing it right up front.
  • Govern, don't trust. Reliability, verification, and oversight built into the system — not bolted on after it breaks.
  • Everything is infrastructure. No "small things." Anything might become load-bearing, so it gets built like it matters.
